1) I love due South. I love the fandom (though I've really been actively involved because it's basically slash only and I'm not a big slasher). But this? Is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Whether you ship the hot Mountie with the suave Italian or the blond guy with experimental hair is of absolutely no consequence. It's not an issue that requires tact. IT DOESN'T MATTER. NO ONE CARES. The earnestness of that whole discussion is making me *boggle*

This whole due South issue is just... um. I vote they go hang out on any other shipper board in existence, for a start. Hopefully then they would come to understand how INSANE all this is. Someone pointing out (& in this fandom? it's done politely as hell, most of the time) they don't really like the same pairing as you is not an infringement on your rights! Honestly.

... what scene? I'M CURIOUS.

Yeah, and this whole 'there's an undercurrent of anti-RayV/Fraser feeling' is... idk, does it matter? Really? I don't want to be mean, but these aren't real issues - they aren't issues at all. The seriousness with which it's being discussed is kind of ridiculous.

The scene where Adama gets drunk and freaks out after Tigh tells him that he's a Cylon. DON'T JUDGE, HEROES BROKE ME.

For real, I read the first post with kind of an O.o expression. It sounds insensitive, because rational or not people may actually be hurt by this, but I really just want to say, in giant sparkly font: NO ONE CARES. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? It baffles me. I could see a point if there had actually been like, an outbreak of people trolling posts with hate for certain pairings and characters all over the place, being deliberately rude and hateful, but that hasn't happened. Sigh.

Exactly! I know that most of the due South fandom are intelligent and articulate, but that post just came off as needless wordy wankery. I feel bad saying it because everyone's so nice, but honestly, when you're taking it that seriously? You need to turn the internet off. *uses icon for dramatic purposes*

Don't try to make me feel better. D: I don't, you know, ever want there to be fic or anything like that - I just... saw it. :/

Just stepping away from the computer would definitely be good for all involved. This whole mess has gotten completely out of hand, and I think in some way the obsession with niceness might be a hindrance, because people are so concerned with being polite it might prevent some from coming out and saying HEY, THIS IS RIDICULOUS. (Aw, LJ didn't leave me any due South icons when it took my paid account. I could've used a F/K icon and make you feel all persecuted or whatever.)

Pfft. Happens to the best of us, I'm sure.
