So, um, I don't quite know what to do with this episode. It's, uh, stupid, and kind of a crazy epic letdown, and I was all set to rant about how they were keeping a character they're basically identifying as a rapist, and offing Nathan just as he realises the mistakes he's made... but now I don't know. I can definitely see myself writing an angsty Nathan/Elle fic in the near future, at least. I'm not entirely sure why they didn't just shoot the real Nathan up with some brand name Claire blood, though - Noah was meant to be dead when Mohinder injected him back in S2, right? Also, moving 'the spot' doesn't... make sense. I mean, it's not just some arbitrary spot, it's meant to kill healers because it severs the spinal cord, right? Just a shitty plot device to keep Sylar in the show, I guess.

This episode also in no way went to tying up the season. It's a mess, basically; after all that build up "Nathan" was able to sort everything out between scenes? Yeah, okay. And IMDB lied to us! I was expecting Christopher Eccleston and Dana Davis. It really felt like they were foreshadowing Claude returning - the name of the episode, the previous graphic novels focused on him, and wasn't there a 'invisible man' reference made a couple of episodes back, or did I dream that (I'm serious, I dream about Heroes more often than I'm comfortable with admitting)?

Tracy is the one we never thought we'd never see again? To coin a phrase Bob seems to be fond of, lol, okay.

Bottom line? This is a really shitty way of not having to decide who to get rid of: if ZQ wants to leave the show and be a film star, they can have Nathan, but if he wants to come back then boom! Sylar re-emerges and the Nathan personality is kicked to the curb. I guess it's better than Sylar straight up impersonating him, FYG-style (from my point of view, because I'm kind of either hugely squicked or hugely bored by Sylar now), but I get the feeling that next season is going to be their last. The shark, you've jumped it.

Oh and: foreshadowing Hiro dying next season, anyone?

I don't want Hiro to die. :(

This new plot with Nathan!Sylar is creepy. I'm not sure how I feel about it. For using the healing blood, there was a part in the graphic novels where it was explained how that can be only done once. With Adam giving his blood to Nathan in season 2, it can't be used again for him.

Maybe Claude and Monica will return in the next volume.-

I'm pretty sure the Claude and Monica "spoilers" were actually sourced back to a joke blog playing a prank, and then ended up on IMDB. Not the first time that kind of thing has happened, not even the first time with Heroes. Sean Bean was supposed to play Sylar according to IMDB in S1.

Yeeeeah. Apparently the writers still don't communicate so well, since they had Kring and others saying she was dead dead dead at the same time Fuller was saying "LOL, totally alive."

I don't really see how this is a question at all. I think it's pretty obviously the plot arc they are laying down -- Nathan for V5, Sylar for V6, and resolution by either Nathan's supremacy or a true meld, probably produced by Nathan's love of Peter.

They BETTER not. Actually... I could see them actually giving him a stroke and putting him in a wheelchair so he can play Prof X. There's no much more character growth for him, so guiding the next generation may be the way to go for him.

i was VERY upset over Nathan's death :( heartbroken in fact. I loved him...specially this volume and the whole Sylar turning into Nathan thing was blegh! I wish Zach would leave the show and leave Adrian to flaunt his awsomeness! :D
and dont worry about dremaing Heroes. I do that all the time. :D

I...still haven't figured out how I feel about this whole thing.

I was NOT expecting it to go that way, and the fact that they surprised me earns them a lot more points than the content of that surprise deserves.

My concrete thoughts so far:

I am not happy that IMDb was lying and wrong and Claude wasn't in it.

I feel next season will be a VERY good one for Peter/Sylar 'shippers.

I hate Sylar.

Angela seems to have totally bought her own lie, and that kinda breaks my heart.

I don't even know what to do with this episode, man.

I DON'T EITHER! I'm actually kind of uncomfortable with the fact that I didn't completely hate it. I'm really excited for the fic potential it has, but I'm pretty sure the actual show will fuck it up.

Yep, pretty much there with you about Sylar. Hey, at least we won't have any Sylar until his personality reasserts itself (is it too much for me to hope that the Nathan personality wins?).

Angela was pretty damn heartbreaking - I'm definitely interested in seeing where this goes/how crazy she goes.

Are we sure that wasn't Barbara?

Well, we did see Tracy blink when she shattered, and Fuller said they weren't killing her off and bringing Barbara in in place of her. And it fits that she's going after ex-agents. It's just... a letdown.

I think what disappointed me most about this episode wasn't so much Nathan's death, but the fact that the emotional "weight" of it was swept aside for the sake of expediency in moving the story in the FYG direction.

Like with Niki/Jessica/Tracy, it just reminds me of a similar "fakeoutdeath" device (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w9DUTcAI0o) used in the movie Beerfest, lol.

But anyway, the real purpose of this post: HAND-HOLDING! (http://hayden-p.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-32417) :p
