That sucks about the downloads. The connection I leech from sometimes stops downloads or makes them real slow. Have you tried one of those program which continues downloads (even if they've dropped) after your connection picks up again?

I use DownloadThemAll, which is pretty good. It's manager/accelerator built in to Firefox, and it can be a little hit and miss about restarting downloads, but generally it's okay. There's only so much it can help when the internet drops out twice a download, though.
