You know, I think I'm pretty good with computers but talk about routers just flies right over my head. It makes me happy that I don't have a laptop.

And, my god, Life. Possibly last episode ever next week. Stupid NBC. I hope their five nights of Leno bombs.

And, lookie! Someone pimped something I did. *preens*

Routers are surely the work of the devil, wireless routers doubly so. It's just... you do everything the manual says, and they should work, but they never do! My routers crashes about four times a day now - more if I'm downloading. In fact, those first three sentences were typed while it had crashed - I just had to go and coax it back to life. I think this calls for me going out to a computer store tomorrow and shelling out for a new router.

It's the last episode next week? Shit. Five nights of Leno seems like overkill from what I've seen of him.

Hey, some things just need a good pimp sometimes.

Oh, wow, dude. That's bad. It does look like you're going to have to give up some money. But it's the internet. It will be worth it.

It's the last episode next week?

Damn. I feel like I kicked your puppy. I don't know what the hell NBC is thinking. I'm thinking they're trying to save money because if they think it's a good creative decision then I officially have no faith in networks. NBC would be dumber than shit, FOX kills its young, CBS is procedural central, The CW is too pathetic to count as a network, and ABC has shows that initially do well but creatively go down hill.

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 12:53am on 03/04/2009
I certainly hope it is - I've already spent money on the wrong kind of router and I have to pay the shipping to send it back and probably won't get the original delivery charge refunded. I may try to get my dad to pay for the new router - the computer stores in my area are notoriously overpriced.

Ha, if you kicked my puppy, she'd probably bite you, but yeah, what the hell is going on with your networks? And all the season finales of my favourite shows are coming up soon; what am I going to do without them?

(You know, I still can't get my Nathan/Elle writing in gear. Damnit, I'm being particularly useless this week.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 01:14am on 03/04/2009
Ha, good plan with your dad. Do you know for sure what type of router you need now?

I get both excited and sad when all the season finales start happening. Because, you know, it's the SEASON FINALE. Everything that the series have been building to all season long is suppose to culminate in that episode. But once it's over then it's over for months or forever if the network is a bastard. The TV season has made me kind of hate summer. There is never anything to watch. What do they expect me to do? Go outside and have a life?

(Still not coming to you, eh? This is going against my enabling ways but maybe you should take a break for awhile. Just enjoy the awesomeness that Heroes has been lately.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 01:23am on 03/04/2009
I'm thinking just a modem router. I need to be able to plug my AirPort into it, and the problem with the one I got was that it had to be connected to a modem, which sort of runs counter to the whole wireless internet deal with my laptop.

I have to say, mostly I'm just worried that Heroes is going to kill Nathan off again. After the last episode I don't think I could handle that again. And then if other shows get cancelled, that'll just add insult to injury.

(*gasp* Blasphemy! I'd love to bask in the awesome, but I get twitchy if I can't write. And it would mean that I wouldn't have an excuse to put my coursework off any more. That just can't happen.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 01:53am on 03/04/2009
Now that's blasphemy. Don't talk about Nathan being killed! Bad you! Don't put those bad vibes out there. Though Heroes does seem to have its own cliches to do every season. Kill and give Ali Larter a new character and put Nathan in mortal danger.

(Hey, I just said it was a suggestion. And one that went against every fangirly thing I stand for. Okay, so instead of writing Nathan/Elle is there something else your twitchy self is itching to write?)

I know, I know, I'm sorry - it's just that someone on my flist was posting about it, and the writers do seem to have this idea that to be redeemed you have to be offed. Argh, Heroes writers, don't let us down now!

(Nope, I haven't got any other ideas at the moment. I'm fiddling yet another opening to the Nathan/Elle fic. It's... slightly more promising than the others. It would help if Heroes timelines didn't confuse the fuck out of me, but we can't have everything, I suppose.

Talking of blasphemy, I just did an online quiz that determined that I'm going to go to the sixth level of Hell when I die, along with all the other heretics. Guess I need to stock up on sunscreen, then.)

I just read a spoiler too about how a cast member from S1 is going to bite it for good. Heroes always seems to kill the characters I like. Damn. Now I'm making myself all depressed. *tries to remember happy feelings from Monday*

(Why do I get obsessed with shows that have wacky time travel hijinks? It's not just the time travel either. The first season of Heroes moved at an incredibly slow paced compared to real time. Are they actually caught up to our real time? And how is the timeline messing with your fic?

I'm betting that I'm going to the Special Hell. Not sure what level that's at. And, holy crap, I'm so pale that no amount of sunscreen could save my hide.)

Gah. Well, apparently there are going to be three deaths and one's a fake out (I think almost for sure that's Tracy - because hopefully even they realise that bringing back Ali as Barbara would be ridiculous). Maybe if the end of the season goes bad we can just pretend it ended at 3x21.

(They're supposed to be, like, in 2007 or something aren't they? It's pretty ridiculous; look at the amount of stuff heroeswiki.com reckons happened around March '07. My problems are more of the time travel/possible futures variety, though. I'm trying to set it in the future from Second Coming, and now I have to work out what would and wouldn't still happen.

Special Hell is a whole other breed of Hell, I think, and one where, if my adventures in fandom have taught me anything, you'd always have the company of many like-minded fangirls. So that's something, I guess.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 03:08am on 03/04/2009
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Tracy. Ali is suppose to come back and Fuller gave an interview about how he was like "Pretty please don't bring Barbra back."

(Shit. Really? They really need to catch up because it is ridiculous. And my brain hurts just thinking of you trying to set up you future verse. Time travel while fun is also head explodey.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 01:57pm on 03/04/2009
Good, I'm glad someone there still has little sense. Though, honestly, their insistence on keeping Ali in the show confuses me. She's... not that great an actress.

(It's particularly ridiculous when you think about how quickly the younger cast are going to age. They really need to space that shit out.

And my brain hurts just thinking of you trying to set up you future verse.

My brain thanks you for the sympathy. It wouldn't be so bad if Heroes time travel made ANY SENSE AT ALL, but what're you going do?)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 02:26pm on 03/04/2009
Besides Hayden and Cristine, Ali is the only female regular. I don't think she's a bad actress but if anything she's keeping the female number of characters floating. Quite a lot actually if you count all her multiple characters/personalities. And I was under the impression that at least in the beginning, she was one of the bigger names of the show. Of course, I never heard of her before this but people recognized her.

(I think Noah has been the greatest example so far of how their slow pace is jarring. Micah sure did some growing up in whatever odd months.

It wouldn't be so bad if Heroes time travel made ANY SENSE AT ALL, but what're you going do?

Fanwank and bullshit your way through?)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 02:42pm on 03/04/2009
That's true, and I actually kind of liked Niki, but Tracy doesn't really seem to add anything to the show, other than being female. I would have prefered if they just hadn't killed Daphne. And if they brought back Monica, but then they'd probably just kill her.

(Yeah, if they want to keep him in the show, they're going to have to something about the fact Micah's supposed to be twelve, but Noah's already fourteen. Also, by the time they remember about Molly, Adair will probably be sixteen or something.

Fanwank and bullshit your way through?

It's how I get by in life, baby.)

The Niki/Jessica combo was the only characters of Ali's that I ever liked. Even if I did like her new characters, I wouldn't want to get attached with Heroes tendencies to kill female characters. Or blonde characters. And Ali has the misfortune of having both qualities. That's like have a target painted on your back.

(You know, Claire is probably the only character that was remembered that was a spawn of another character. Molly, Micah, Matt Jr., and Nathan's other two were promptly forgotten to only occasionally to be brought up. Oh. And Lyle.

Heh. Funny you should mention Monica. She was on Bones last night and by the looks of it is going to be a recurring character. I got all lame and geeky and pointed at the screen.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 03:15pm on 03/04/2009
(Actually I have read a spoiler about Nathan's other two kids recently, but yeah, with his angsting about being a bad father, you'd think he'd make a mention of his sons. And at least we still occasionally see Lyle, even if he is sort of the running joke of the show.

Ooh, really? What season is it up to now? I've only ever managed to see S1. And I have a compulsive habit of pointing out when actors from my favourite shows turn up in movies and TV. It's kind of obnoxious.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 03:37pm on 03/04/2009
(You mean they haven't forgotten about Nathan's other kids? GASP. Apparently only Claire is important enough to angst over. I bet most people have forgotten about Monty and *checks wikipedia*... Simon. If he did go on a guilt trip over them too most viewers would probably be "Whaaaaa? He has other kids."

Bones is in its forth season. I point people out but I try to be all cool about it and not starting gushing like my fangirly ways want me to. I watch so much television now though that I'm starting to recognize those actors that are constantly popping up to do tv roles. Unfortunately, it ruins some dramatic effect because I get suspicious. I know they'll factor into some kind of twist.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 03:56pm on 03/04/2009
(I guess it's mostly speculation at the moment, but yeah, it seems like Nathan might recover from his selective amnesia. How old do you reckon they'll be? Eighteen?

When I was completely obsessed with Stargate SG-1 basically any American show was bound to star one of the secondary actors. Canadians get everywhere. And I felt the need to point them out every. damn. time.

Also, why the fuck wasn't The Office on this week? Goddamnit, what's up with all these breaks?)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 04:04pm on 03/04/2009
(I have no freaking clue how old they'll be. Hell, with this show they may now be one character with combined ages.

I think they had a three hour series finale for ER. We are suppose to get two episodes next week, 30 Rock, and the premieres of Parks and Recreation and Southland.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 04:18pm on 03/04/2009
(Maybe that'll be their powers: Mighty Morphin' Neglected Children. I can't help but wonder what their combined name would be. I'm thinking Simonty.

Urgh, don't talk to me about Southland - I'm trying to download the ripped version of the free pilot from NBC.com, but mediafire is fucking with me.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 04:45pm on 03/04/2009
(Will they have four limbs? If we're combining names then we can make them mutants.

I actually just watched the pilot for Southland.)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 05:00pm on 03/04/2009
(Doesn't everyone have four limbs? They'd have to have two heads though, since we've already had the whole split personality thing.

Is it any good? Should I bother beating mediafire into submission?)

(Four arms. I'm tired and yet to go to bed.

I liked it enough. Didn't wow me or anything but the style of it sets it apart from most. I'm pretty neutral when it comes to cop shows though. It could have pretty spectacular or incredibly crappy and my reaction still would have probably been "eh".)

posted by [identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com at 05:55pm on 03/04/2009
(Heh, that's what I thought you meant. Why haven't you gone to bed yet?

Cop shows are pretty much ten a penny, but I've got a soft spot for them since I grew up watching them, Of course, I'm going to be less well-disposed towards it if NBC messes with Life.)

posted by [identity profile] twistdmentality.livejournal.com at 06:51pm on 03/04/2009
(At first it was basically me delaying going to bed because I either wanted to catch up on a few last things on the great world wide web then I was fiddling with Photoshop then I was fiddling around with Sony Vegas and then it was morning so I figured I would stay up and have breakfast. And then I just wasn't tired anymore. I'm sure I'll get drowsy and want to pass out right before Terminator comes on. Because I'm awesome like that.

The only two cop/procedural shows that I really find myself liking is Life and Bones. And they have a nice humor and quirky character balance vs the dead body ratio.)

Wait wait wait, back up, did you say Sony Vegas? Dare I hope...? Also, do you ever need sleep? I can't go more than twelve hours without half losing my mind.

Wait wait wait, back up, did you say Sony Vegas? Dare I hope...?

Well, I don't know how much you want to hope but, yes, I am working on my N/C vid. A couple in fact because I haven't found one I exactly want. I figure practicing with songs I'm not exactly over the moon about will help me familiarize myself with the clips for when I find The Perfect Song.

Also, do you ever need sleep?

I do indeed. Not as much I usually do lately. But I pretty much stay up longer than most normal human beings. On the flip side of that, I sleep for a greater length of time.

What songs are you practising with? Also, more vids = more awesome, so carry on.

Those two that told you about way in the beginning. I told you I hadn't been looking. I want to vid but I don't want to force it at the same time.

Edit: It occurred to me that while in my half-sleep state that while I can perfectly recall what songs I'm talking about that you may not. So, Forget It by Breaking Benjamin and Honest Mistake by The Bravery.
