I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they listen in rapture to the love-music of she-turnips." I might feel compelled to mock your musical taste, but I'll certainly remember you.
It would be great if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

I'm the biggest cry baby on the planet.
I'm obsessed with music and I only dance when I'm the only one in the room.
Mike Portnoy is my drummer god.
I'm a B type personality with A-type armor.
My IQ is 142.
I want to go to Vancouver Film School.
I never finish anythi-
I have trouble getting my thoughts down on paper lately.
I'd like to get to know you better too. ^^

Me too! And it's a good thing, because wow, my dancing is something not to behold. ^^ Vancouver Film School looks really awesome. I definitely want to study in Canada, I just can't decide what to study. I'm interested in English in some form and ICT, and the only real way I can study both, rather than specialising in one area, is to go to North America. Problem is, I'm such a homebody, I'll be seriously home-sick. :(
I had an IQ test when I was about nine at my school. The teachers wouldn't tell me what the test was for, and never told me or my parents. Everyone thought I was being tested for dyslexia.
I have no idea who Mike Portnoy is. :/

I'm honestly worried about studying in Vancouver. I'm a gorram California girl. Me and cold don't go so well together. Also there's the whole homesick thing like you have. Hmm...are there any schools in the Vancouver area that you could go to? Mebbie we could room and be homesick together?
Mike Portnoy is the most amazing drummer...ever. ^^; He does a lot of solo projects but he mainly plays with one of my favorite bands, Dream Theater.
The man honestly frightens me a little bit, I mean, talk about talent. I wish I could be this good. (not that I would ever be doing anything but drumming)

Looking at VFS's website, it could definitely be somewhere I'd want to go, Writing for Film & Television sounds really interesting. I won't finish studying here in good ol' Blighty till 2009, and then I was considering taking a gap year (you don't know how bad I want to work at Forbidden Planet). When would you start there if you decide to go?
Wow, that guy is really good! Hell of a lot of stamina. ^^ How long have you drummed for?

I've been drumming off and on since I was 10ish. I've pretty much stopped until earlier this year, when Rock Band came out. Now I really wanna start again. ^^;; prolly gonna try to get studio time in Feb.

I never managed to get into music really. I think my horrible music teachers probably put me off. All I can play is the recorder if the notes are written out as A, B, C etc, and recorders are really awful instruments. :D

I always had horrible music teachers man. /shudder. But I enjoyed it none the less I suppose. ^^;; I think all music teachers are inherently bad.

- I'm a neuroscientist; it's an identity as much or more than it is a job, which is why I talk about it so incessantly :)
- I'm a transhumanist/futurist, committed to a belief that biotechnological developments will change and improve what it means to be human;
- I'm silly about pet projects and fandoms, and get millions of little obsessions which can last anything from a couple of hours to months :)
