*collapses*
I walked the dogs up to Regent's Park today, and Mitt decided to become spontaneously ill, vomiting all over the ground, so I had to carry her the three miles back home. Well, I didn't have to, but I have a large sign that says 'sucker' hanging over my head, so... ^^
So, I saw HP on Thursday night and wow, how much did they leave out? Luna's pivotal role in the book, that being her father publishing the pro-Harry article in The Quibbler, was completely left out. That's a pretty big plot point! (Side note: Luna's shoes that were hanging from the arch? I have that pair! Or I did, before that backs got rubbed away and I had to chuck them out.)
Also, the Ordinary Boys? Seriously, THE ORDINARY BOYS? How on earth would they play a muggle song in the grounds? Someone's not been reading A History of Hogwarts. And anyway, HP is set in the mid-1990s, not the present day.
However, the cinematography was gorgeous, I loved the music - especially the piece played when Umbridge was being chased by the firework dragon - and Radcliffe's hair was very pretty. Not canon, at all, but pretty. He looked quite 1920s, I thought.
I went to a special screening of it at the 20th Century House in Soho, with my dad and grandfather, and it was weird. Seeing my dad with his father almost did the impossible - made me feel sorry for him. My grandfather isn't the nicest guy in the world, and I can sort of see why my dad is the way he is.
Lastly! I've been playing Urbz: Sim in the City obsessively on my DS, and it has Firefly references! One of the NPC's cats are called Mal and Inara! :D It really is the ultimate Mary-Sue game, I love it.
